By-Car Hire Guide To The BalearicsThe Balearics are a group of islands in the Mediterranean Sea off the Spanish coast. The three largest islands, Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca, are known for their incredible nightlife, boasting the world's largest nightclubs and appearances from the most popular DJs in dance music. Yet the Balearics are more than just a partying destination. They offer stunning scenery, picturesque architecture, good cuisine, clean beaches and a climate that attracts sun-worshippers from around the world. Each island on the Balearics offers something different for the holidaymaker. Mallorca has some high-quality golf courses, much of Ibiza is recognised by the World Heritage Centre for its natural beauty and Menorca is a pleasant and relaxing island. The best way to explore the Balearic Islands is by hiring a car or a 4-wheel drive vehicle during your stay, because while the islands are relatively small, some of the terrain makes them difficuly to explore on foot. If you hire a car or off-road vehicle during your stay in the Ibiza, Mallorca or Menorca you'll be able to truly explore your chosen island, not just the tourist resort areas, and discover your own Balearics. You can find out more about some of the attractions in the Balearics that you can visit if you hire a car here:
Getting to the Balearics and Car HireMost major European airports operate flights to the Balearics. Most offer direct flights to Ibiza Airport, Palma Airport in Mallorca and Menorca Airport near Mahon. It is possible to island-hop by air, but there are also many inter-island ferries and catamarans, so you can explore several of the islands during your holiday. The best way to experience what each island has to offer is to hire a car, and car hire is available on Ibiza, Mallorca and Menorca. |
