By-Car Hire Guide To Sorrento & The Amalfi Coast

The lovely city of Sorrento, in Italy's Campania region, is the perfect base for a holiday. Set on the beautiful Italian coastline, with a view of the Bay of Naples, Sorrento is a popular tourist destination with plenty to offer.

Sorrento Overview

You can enjoy beaches such as Punto del Capo, take a boat from the harbour and visit the island of Capri, or visit the Chiesa di San Francesco Cathedral, which dates back to the 1300s.

You can also enjoy the street market that sets up in the city once a week, stroll through the Piazza Tasso, sit outside one of the cafes with a drink and people watch, or learn more about the area's history at the Museo Correale.

Shopping is great in Sorrento and you can pick up clothes, jewellery, crafts and a host of other items. The nightlife is lively and you can drink in the bars, listen to live music, dance or indulge in a delicious meal in one of the fabulous restaurants.

If you're staying in Sorrento, however, you really need to hire a car so that you can explore the surrounding area properly.
