St. Tropez is a classy seaside resort on the French Riviera, where luxury yachts line up in the clear blue waters of the Bay of Saint-Tropez, facing the terrace of cafes.

St. Tropez became famous across the world in the 1950s, when it was used as the setting for "And God Created Woman" (1956), starring Brigitte Bardot, and has remained a popular destination with the rich and famous ever since.

The beaches along the Baie de Pampelonne, south of St. Tropez, are some of the finest in the area and you can relax on the golden sand, take part in water sports like windsurfing, sailing, canoeing and jet-skiing, or even hire a powerboat.

If that's too energetic for you, you can take a stroll through St. Tropez's medieval streets or soak up the atmosphere in one of the waterfront cafes. You can also visit one of the town's museums, such as the Musée de l'Annociade, housed in the 16th century Chapelle Notre-Dame de l'Annonciade, which contains a collection of works by artists including Matisse, Seurat and Signac.

In the evening, you can try one of St. Tropez's many restaurants and then dance the night away at one of its glitzy clubs.

The nearest major airport to St. Tropez is Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport, about an hour's drive east of St. Tropez, and you can hire a car here and drive to St. Tropez.
